Best AI Receptionist for Pest Control Companies
Pest calls rarely wait: a homeowner with a wasp nest or a mouse in the kitchen wants an answer now, often while your techs are mid-treatment. Here is how three AI receptionists compare for pest control. We have not hands-on tested these products. Everything below comes from vendor pages and other public sources, linked inline. Short answer
If you already run your routes in GorillaDesk, its built-in VoIP AI Agent is the most connected option: GorillaDesk says it answers calls, adds new leads and schedules bookings directly into your GorillaDesk account, and it bills $0.13 per minute for local calls from prepaid VoIP credits (GorillaDesk VoIP Receptionist help article). It requires a GorillaDesk VoIP Pro plan. If you use FieldRoutes, PestPac or no software at all, Rosie starts at $49 per month for 250 minutes, texts or emails you the moment an urgent call comes in, and adds direct calendar booking plus live and warm transfers on its $149 Scale plan (Rosie pricing). If a big share of your callers are recurring customers who call more than once, Goodcall bills per unique customer instead of per minute, from $79 per month for 100 unique customers (Goodcall pricing).
| Rosie | GorillaDesk VoIP AI Agent | Goodcall | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published entry price | $49/mo, 250 min (Professional) | $0.13/min local, $0.17/min toll-free, paid from VoIP credits; needs VoIP Pro and a GorillaDesk plan (from $49/mo for the first route) | $79/mo for 100 unique customers, then 79 cents each (Starter) |
| Urgent calls (stinging insects, rodents in the kitchen) | Texts and/or emails you the second an urgent call comes in; live and warm transfers on Scale ($149) | Answers, captures the lead and schedules; it sits last in a fixed-order routing group, so a person can be tried first | Transfers are part of call handling; you choose who receives them |
| Books service | Text booking links on Professional; direct calendar booking on Scale and up | Schedules bookings directly in GorillaDesk | Booking is set up as a "worker" inside your agent; Starter includes 5 workers and 1 external tool |
| Pest software fit | Zapier only; no native FieldRoutes, PestPac or GorillaDesk integration listed | Native to GorillaDesk only | Anything you connect counts as an "external tool" (1 on Starter, 5 on Growth) |
| Recurring customers who call back | Every call uses plan minutes | Billed per minute of each call | Same caller in the same month counts once; spam and wrong numbers do not count |
| Spanish | English and Spanish on every plan | Not stated on the pages we checked | Not stated on the page we checked |

GorillaDesk lists two different AI prices
GorillaDesk's AI Agents page prices AI conversations at $1.00 per completed static conversation (general questions) and $1.75 per completed dynamic conversation (an action such as capturing a lead or booking) (GorillaDesk AI Agents page). Its help article for the phone agent lists $0.13 per minute for local calls and $0.17 per minute for toll-free calls, billed from VoIP credits (GorillaDesk VoIP Receptionist help article). The pages do not say how the two prices combine for phone calls, and we did not find the VoIP Pro plan price on the pages we checked. Ask GorillaDesk for a written quote at your call volume before you switch it on. The help article also says you can test the agent before paying to activate VoIP, and that if credits run out, calls fall back to your normal VoIP settings.
What about FieldRoutes and PestPac shops?
We did not find a built-in AI phone receptionist on FieldRoutes or PestPac pages we checked. A comparison written by Solea, which sells a competing pest control platform, reaches the same conclusion and notes PestPac's conversational features still carry roadmap language (Solea pest control AI comparison); treat that as a competitor's view. My AI Front Desk says its pest control answering syncs with FieldRoutes, PestPac, GorillaDesk, Briostack and Jobber (My AI Front Desk FieldRoutes page). We have not verified how deep those connections go, so ask any vendor whether it creates the service appointment in your software or only sends you a summary.
What to look for
- Urgent vs routine. A wasp nest by the front door and a quarterly service question need different handling. Write the words that mean "call me now" into the AI's instructions.
- Peak-season pricing. Spring and summer bring the call spikes. Price your busiest month. Minute plans (Rosie, GorillaDesk) and per-customer plans (Goodcall) behave very differently when the same homeowner calls three times.
- The right intake questions. Rosie says it can be set to ask about details like the type of pest or extent of termite damage (Rosie pest control page). Decide what your techs need before arriving: pest type, property type, pets or kids, and access.
- Treatment questions. Callers often ask whether a product is safe for pets. Have the AI give only answers you have written and approved, and pass anything else to a person.
- Keep your number. Rosie says you can forward your existing number (Rosie pest control page). GorillaDesk's agent runs on GorillaDesk VoIP numbers (GorillaDesk VoIP Receptionist help article), so check how your current number moves over.
- Free trial. Rosie lists a 7-day trial (Rosie pricing). GorillaDesk lists a 14-day free trial of its software (GorillaDesk pricing). Goodcall offers a free demo agent before you connect a number (Goodcall pricing).
