Jobholler Launches an AI Receptionist for Contractors: What We Know
Jobholler announced a 24/7 AI receptionist for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and roofing businesses on October 20, 2026. We have not tested it. Everything below comes from Jobholler's own press release and website, linked inline, and anything we could not confirm on Jobholler's site is marked unverified. Checked Oct 26, 2026.
The short version
Jobholler answers the calls you miss. You forward missed or after-hours calls from your existing number, it answers with your business name, collects the caller's details and the problem, and emails you a summary (press release, Jobholler home page). Plans are $85, $149 and $399 per month, and Jobholler says the plan price includes call handling and call length does not change it (Jobholler pricing). Its biggest difference from the tools we already cover is that flat, no-minutes pricing. Its biggest open question is that we found no live call transfer listed, and its own terms say not to use it for emergency dispatch (Jobholler terms).

"No" in this table means the feature is not listed for that plan on Jobholler's pricing page.
What Jobholler's own site confirms
- Who it is for. HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical and other U.S. home-service contractors (home page).
- Keep your number. You forward calls from your existing cell, landline or business phone system; no porting required (home page).
- Answers 24/7 with your business name. The caller hears a greeting using your business name, then answers a few questions about the service request (home page FAQ).
- What it collects. The pricing page lists call intake of caller name, number, address and issue on Starter (pricing). Note that the HVAC page describes Starter intake as "basic intake (caller name and issue)" (HVAC page), so confirm what Starter actually captures.
- Email summaries. Call summaries go to the business email set on your account, when email notifications are configured (home page). The sample summary on the home page shows name, phone, address, issue and a priority field.
- Flat pricing. "Your selected plan price includes call handling; call length does not change it" (pricing, terms).
- Booking is Pro only and needs a calendar. Pro quick-book checks open availability in a supported connected calendar, and a time is confirmed only after a slot is selected and saved (HVAC page).
- Trial. Free 7-day trial with no credit card required. The HVAC page says the no-card trial ends after 7 days or 50 answered calls, whichever comes first, and no charge starts unless you add a card and check out (HVAC page).
- 30-Day Call Guarantee. If no inbound customer call is answered during your first paid month, you can request a refund of the first monthly charge (or one-twelfth of an annual charge), once per business, by email within 15 days after the period ends. It covers answered calls, not booked jobs or sales, and your own test calls do not count (terms).
- Refunds and cancelling. Outside that guarantee, payments are non-refundable. You cancel in Account, Billing, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle (terms).
- Not for emergencies. The terms say: "Do not use Jobholler as an emergency service or to provide emergency dispatch" (terms).
- Who runs it. The terms name the operator as Cars and Cuts LLC, governed by Georgia law (terms).
- Demo line. Jobholler lists a free demo line, (866) 627-2584, with no sign-up (home page). We have not called it.
Unverified or conflicting
- Trial length. The press release says a free 3-day trial (press release). Jobholler's website and terms say 7 days, and the HVAC page adds a 50-answered-call cap. We go with the website, but check the terms shown at checkout.
- "Within minutes." The press release says the summary email arrives within minutes and that calls are answered in seconds. We did not find a delivery time stated on Jobholler's website. Unverified.
- Urgency. The press release says the email includes urgency. The website lists "transcript-based lead scoring" and shows a priority field in an example summary, but does not explain how urgency is judged. Partly verified.
- Live call transfer. Not listed on any Jobholler page we checked. Pro lists "advanced call routing" and "team handoff workflows" without defining them, so we cannot say whether a caller can be put through to you live. Unverified.
- Monthly call limits. The site says call length does not change your price, but we found no stated cap or fair-use limit on calls per month for paid plans. Unverified.
- Which calendars work with quick-book, and whether it connects to Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. Not listed on the pages we checked. Unverified.
- Spanish or other languages. Not stated on the pages we checked. Unverified.
- Text message alerts. Lead alerts are listed by email only. We found no text alert option. Unverified.
Questions to ask before you try it
- Minutes and overage. Is there any monthly limit on calls or minutes on paid plans, and what happens if a storm day or heat wave sends you far more calls than usual? Get the answer in writing, since "call length does not change it" says nothing about call count.
- Booking or message only? On Starter and Core, it takes a message and emails you. Only Pro lists self-scheduling, and only with a supported calendar. Ask which calendars, and whether a booked slot lands in your field service software or only the calendar.
- Live transfer. If a caller has no heat, no cooling, a burst pipe or a sparking panel, can Jobholler put them through to you live, or text you right away? Ask what "advanced call routing" and "team handoff workflows" actually do. Remember the terms say not to use it for emergency dispatch, so plan your own emergency line.
- What happens past the trial. The trial is no-card, so nothing is charged unless you check out. Once you pay, payments are non-refundable outside the 30-Day Call Guarantee, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing cycle. Ask whether your setup and call history carry over if you pick a plan later.
- Starter intake. Does Starter capture the service address, or only name and issue? The pricing page and HVAC page word this differently.
- Email delivery. How fast do summaries really arrive, and what happens if the email is not delivered? The terms say delivery is not guaranteed for every call.
Our tip for any trial: forward your line, then call it yourself after hours with a real emergency script and a routine quote request, and see what lands in your inbox and how fast. Your own test calls do not count toward the guarantee, so this is purely for your judgment.
How it compares to options already on AnswerVerdict
We have not tested Jobholler or the tools below. This is a comparison of published information only.
- Price model. Jobholler is flat ($85 to $399 per month, call length not counted). Rosie starts at $49 per month for 250 minutes, and My AI Front Desk is $99 per month (or $79 billed annually) with 200 voice minutes and $0.25 per extra minute, per our pricing comparison and 2026 pricing study. If you get a lot of long calls, flat pricing may help; if you get few calls, a minutes plan may cost less. Run your numbers in the missed-call calculator and the AI vs hiring calculator.
- Emergency routing. Our HVAC guide and plumbers guide cover tools with published live transfer options: Rosie lists live and warm transfers on its $149 Scale plan, and Jobber Receptionist transfers or texts you on urgent keywords. We found no live transfer listed for Jobholler.
- Booking. Jobholler lists self-scheduling on Pro ($399) only. Rosie lists direct calendar booking from its $149 plan, and Jobber Receptionist books into Jobber, as covered in our electricians guide. Roofing shops can also compare Roofr AI Receptionist and Goodcall in our roofers guide.
- Extras. Jobholler's Core plan bundles Google review requests and a team dashboard, which the other tools price differently. See Rosie vs My AI Front Desk for those two side by side.
