Simpro Launches Pulse, an AI Receptionist Built Inside Simpro: What We Know
Simpro, the field service management software, announced Pulse, an AI customer service agent (an AI receptionist) built inside Simpro, in a blog post dated October 28, 2026. We have not tested it. Everything below comes from Simpro's own blog post and website, linked inline. Features are Simpro's own claims, and anything we could not confirm is marked unverified. Checked Oct 28, 2026.
The short version
Pulse answers inbound calls 24/7, recognizes existing customers, creates the job in Simpro, and places a provisional hold on your live Simpro schedule for your team to confirm (Simpro blog post, Pulse feature page). Safety calls such as gas, CO, flooding or an electrical fire are transferred to your on-call team. The big difference from the tools we already cover: it lives inside Simpro, so it only makes sense if you already run your shop on Simpro. Simpro does not publish a price for Pulse.
What Simpro says it does (vendor claims)
These are Simpro's own claims. We have not checked any of them in practice.
- Who it is for. Field service trades including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire and security, and drainage (feature page).
- 24/7 answering. Answers inbound calls day and night, including weekends and holidays (blog post). The feature page says it answers "in under a second."
- Knows your customers. Recognizes existing customers by phone number from their Simpro record (blog post, feature page).
- Creates the job. Captures what is wrong, where and how urgent, then creates a job in Simpro with trade type, urgency and notes (blog post, feature page).
- Provisional booking. Places a provisional hold on the live Simpro schedule, and a person on your team confirms it (blog post, feature page).
- Safety escalation. Gas, CO, flooding or electrical fire calls are transferred to your on-call team with an alert. The feature page says safety escalation is always on, and complaints and negative sentiment also go to a person.
- Call records. A transcript and AI summary post to the customer and job record for every call; the feature page adds a sentiment tag.
- Controls. You choose which skills Pulse uses and set routing for each call context (feature page).
- Live demo. Simpro lists live webinar sessions on November 3 and 4, 2026 where attendees can bring their own call scenarios (blog post).
Price and availability
Simpro's feature page says Pulse is a paid add-on for Simpro with monthly plans based on included call minutes, and asks you to book a demo to see plans (feature page). No dollar amounts are published. Simpro itself is quoted per business, with a setup fee and no self-serve trial (Simpro pricing). Pulse is part of Simpro Lightning, Simpro's AI platform upgrade.
Unverified or unclear
- Price. No published price for Pulse or for Simpro. Unverified until you get a quote.
- Add-on or included? The feature page calls Pulse a paid add-on, while Simpro's add-ons page says new digital workers come to Simpro Lightning customers "as part of the upgrade" (add-ons page). Unclear whether you need Lightning, a Pulse plan, or both. Ask.
- Minutes and overages. Plans are based on included call minutes, but we found no minute amounts or overage rates. Unverified.
- Region. The webinar has UK/USA and Australia/New Zealand sessions; we found no clear statement of which countries Pulse is live in today. Unverified.
- AI and recording notice. We did not find whether Pulse tells callers they are speaking with an AI or that the call is recorded. Worth confirming, since call-recording consent rules vary by state.
- Call quality and accuracy. Not something we can confirm from a website. Unverified.
Who it fits
- Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire and security, or drainage shops that already run on Simpro and want calls to land as real jobs, not messages to re-type.
- Shops that want a person to confirm every booking before it is final.
- Not a fit if you do not use Simpro. If you are on Jobber, see can an AI receptionist book jobs into Jobber? For standalone tools, see our pricing comparison.
What to check before signing up
- The full monthly cost. Ask for the Pulse plan price, included minutes, overage rate, and whether a Lightning upgrade is also required.
- Emergency handling. Ask how the transfer to on-call works when nobody picks up, and test it with a gas or burst-pipe script.
- Who confirms holds after hours. A provisional hold still needs a person. Decide who confirms overnight bookings and how fast.
- Caller notice. Confirm what the greeting says about AI and call recording.
- Bring real calls to the demo. Simpro itself suggests testing a routine booking, an unclear request and a high-risk emergency. That is good advice for any AI receptionist.
How it compares to options already on AnswerVerdict
We have not tested Pulse or the tools below. This is a comparison of published information only.
- Built into your software. Pulse is to Simpro what Jobber Receptionist is to Jobber: an AI receptionist inside the job software, covered in our electricians guide. Standalone tools like Rosie and My AI Front Desk work with any setup; see Rosie vs My AI Front Desk.
- Price visibility. Rosie, My AI Front Desk, Jobholler and Odile publish prices. Pulse does not. See our 2026 pricing study.
- Other recent launches. Jobholler: what we know, Odile After Hours: what we know and Roofr AI Receptionist: what we know.
